Live 105 BFD
June 10,2006
Cliff and I had a blast at Live 105 BFD. The line-up was incredible, most of of favorite bands were playing and they didn't disappoint. Here are some photos of the bands and some of the crazy people we met that day. My favorite of the day had to be when OK GO (one of my favorites) told a story about how MTV used to play music videos, but evidently music videos don't sell skateboards so they re-enacted the video to one of their new songs. It was awesome. A highlight for me was actually riding a mechanical bull. The photographic evidence is included here. It was a blast! I recommend trying it!
The generation gap moment was when OK GO said "this song is for you old f*cks in the back" and they played ELO's "Don't Bring Me Down". I loved it, but looking around I could see that most of the "youngsters" didn't know the song :-) Click here to see photos!
| Band | Comments |
| The Hush Sound | Great band with 2 lead singers, one male one female. Put on a great show! |
| OK GO | One of my favorite bands, with a terrific sense of humor! Re-enacted their video on-stage! |
| The Sounds | Swedish band with super-tough lead female singer. Lots of ego and attitude, put on a great show! |
| Hard Fi | West London band, you can definitely hear influence of The Clash in their music. Popular song right now is "Cash Machine" - great message about just working to fill the cash machine :-) |
| Anti-Flag | One of the most intelligent bands out there and best anti-Bush bands. They get it and they send the right message - visit their website and sign the petition! http://www.militaryfreezone.com/ |
| Wolfmother | Awesome band reminicent of the good 70s rock bands |
| Thursday | We missed them but one of their "hits" is 5-4-3-2-1 which is good. |
| She Wants Revenge | One of my favorites! Very "Peter Murphy", the lead singers pants were a bit low but the show was awesome! |
| Panic! At The Disco | Another great band - Cliff and I didn't get to sit down very much, too many great bands putting on awesome sets! |
| Yellowcard | Missed them, needed a beer and a break |
| Yeah Yeah Yeahs | We could hear them, it got WAY too crowded around the festival stage so we moved to the main stage at this point. |
| Every Move A Picture | Put on a good show, first band to play the main stage |
| Echo & The Bunnymen | Played all of their hits - I missed it but Cliff said it was great! |
| HIM | Not one of our favorites, their a metal band |
| Franz Ferdinand | Franz put on the best show on the main stage. They are an awesome band with great stage presence |
| The Strokes | They were great! |
| AFI | Missed em - we left after the Strokes and a 12 hour day! |
